In New York, I imagine folks are beginning to anticipate a return of crispness in the air and the change in tint from green to yellow to orange... here in the Bay Area, we're just getting warmed up! Here in the land of moderate weather, the sun is out and about again and keeping us plenty warm, delaying the eventual hibernation that should normally come with the end of summer...

If you're around this weekend, check out Oakland's Art and Soul Festival. Heiroglyphics, Lyrics Born, Aimee Mann, Roy Ayers, Blues Traveller, and a whole bunch of other people performing throughout the long weekend. And AnotherPlanet.com has a gang of big and small name acts coming into town, including Living Colour, Santana, Blackalicious, Franz Ferdinand, and Green Day. Should be a busy season for us!

Meanwhile, in New York, there's a couple of shows at SOBS that I expect will be pretty good: Goapele on the 21st of September, and Arrested Development on the 22nd. Should be a pretty strong one-two punch. Oh, Q-Tip's hosting a party every Thursday night at Strata. And I'm sure there's a bunch of other stuff to do; but if I looked it up, I'd just get more jealous...
